SIP’s Jinji Lake Sub-district recently saw a diversity of events that enriched the participating residents’ cultural and spiritual life.
Shidai Guangchangnan Community organized a DIY event where the participants learnt to make pictures of a local Ferris wheel by winding colored string around a grid of nails hammered into a photo frame.
In the event in Qiongjidun Community, a volunteer taught a group of children to make aromatherapy gypsum.
In the event in Donghu Linyu Community, the participating residents made paper lanterns decorated with dried flowers following the demonstration and instruction of a community worker.
In the event in Dongfang Community, the volunteer teacher told a number of youngsters stories about ten heroes in the Chinese history, which enhanced the youngsters’ love for the country.
The event in Xinxin Community offered the participating youngsters a chance to gain a good knowledge of traditional Chinese paper making techniques. The youngsters also tried to make paper using the techniques and decorate the paper with their paintings.
