SIP sees record low PM2.5 concentration

Date:2022-01-14 09:49:18|Source:|Font Size: AAA

SIP recently reported its record low average annual PM2.5 concentration, 25.9 micrograms per cubic meter, which is down by 22.5% over the previous year and for the first time, below 30 micrograms per cubic meter. This allows SIP to rank first across Suzhou in terms of the year-on-year drop of PM2.5 concentration.

The achievement stems from SIP’s endeavor over the whole year of 2021 in pushing forward 21 tasks aimed at detecting and controlling air pollution. As part of the efforts, SIP authorities conducted a series of inspections to control the emission of harmful VOCs (volatile organic compounds), exhaust of diesel vehicles and cooking fume, and offered guidance and support for local enterprises to transform to eco-friendly production.
