Overseas Chinese Academy of Chiway Suzhou (OCAC), an SIP-based school for children of overseas returnees, hosted a New Year fair on Jan 26, demonstrating a perfect combination of traditional Chinese temple fairs and modern technology.
The event offered the students about 200 experience activities that allowed them to enjoy amazing traditional Chinese art performances, know better about many traditional Chinese handicrafts such as K’o-ssu (a traditional technique in Chinese silk tapestry) and the mortise-and-tenon techniques used in ancient architecture, and experience various sciences and technologies.
In one example, the students made beautiful paper-cuts using a computer program they created.
