Shopping festival stimulates consumption

Double 12 Shopping Suzhou, a shopping festival launched on Dec 11 at SIP’s Suzhou Center Mall and 11 county-level cities and districts in Suzhou, is driving a robust surge in consumption across the city. The first-day online sales reached RMB 8.46 billion.

The event has gathered the country’s best-known e-commerce companies including Alibaba, JD.com, Suning, Pinduoduo, Meituan Dianping and so on, and many local leading e-commerce platform operators such as Tongcheng Life and 34580.com, with a great variety of products and services from food ingredients to daily use articles and recreational services. Diverse live-stream marketing activities have attracted tens of millions of viewers.

Apart from that, the Guanqian, Shishan, Jinji Lake, Shilu and other major business circles in Suzhou are hosting various promotional activities.

It is noteworthy that the on- and off-line marketing activities have made many “made-in-Suzhou” products popular home and abroad.
