New Chinese illustrators to compete in GIA 2017
The results of the qualification trials for the Global Illustration Award (GIA) 2017 were released at the Suzhou Books Pavilion on July 15, and 20 new Chinese illustrators entered the GIA finals after fierce competition.
The GIA is an annual international illustration competition co-founded by the Frankfurt Book Fair and the International Information Content Industry Association (ICIA). It was for the first time that qualification trials for new Chinese illustrators were held in China, aimed at offering a new channel for promising Chinese illustrators to stand on the international illustration stage.
The qualification trials attracted great attention of Chinese newcomers to the illustration circle and students from Chinese art universities and colleges. A total of 5,587 works had been submitted by June 30.
