Introducing Suzhou's Classical Gardens as Major Element in Original Creation

Classical gardens with rich and profound cultural elements is an important and indispensable part of Chinese culture; this is especially the case in Suzhou, where the garden becomes a cultural symbol of the city. And now local production teams plan to introduce Suzhou gardens to the world in a more creative way.
Local Cultural Elements Favored
Goldie Cartoon International Culture is working on the world's first stereo animation production, Prosperous Gusu City, in the style of ink wash, introducing the city's two legendary figures, Ganjiang and Moye. The production will soon be on the public show.
Cuckoos NEST Studios is also making a Kunqu animation program and the designers are considering using traditional Chinese painting techniques to depict opera characters.
Realizing Industrial Localization by Absorbing Traditional Cultural Essence
Since the founding of National Base of Animation Industry in 2005 in Suzhou International Science Park, the city has achieved great progress in animation industry and, at the same time, localization has become an increasingly prominent issue.
Suzhou is a city of cultural renown with a long history, rich in traditional cultures, most of which can be presented in the form of creative animation. In this sense, Suzhou has its unique advantage. As a result, local producers and professionals manage to explore the local treasures and infuse traditional cultural elements into their productions in the hope of promoting animation sector on a continuous basis.
What's the most important for animation industry lies in the effective development of national cultures and one of the reasons why Japan and US lead in the field is because their works unexceptionally reflect their cultures. Therefore, in order to make progress, Chinese animation industry should also be based on its centuries-old culture instead of blindly following suit.
