Family reunion under the full moon on the Mid-autumn Festival on the fifteenth day of the eighth lunar month is a tradition observed by the Chinese for generation after generation. This special day falls on September 12 this year and Suzhou Industrial Park has prepared quite a few of activities, including the centuries-old ceremony of honoring and appreciating the moon.

The Mid-Autumn Festival celebrated on the fifteenth day of the eighth lunar month is one of the most popular holidays among the Chinese. There are many stories about its origin and tradition, but the theme of celebrating harvest and family reunion remains the same for centuries. The State Council listed it as an Intangible Cultural Heritage on May 20, 2006, and as a national holiday in 2008.
