State and Provincial Governments to Promote ICT Industry during Post-Crisis Era
The 8th China Suzhou Electronics Manufacturing Exposition (eMEX 2009 ) opened on October 22 at Suzhou International Expo Center and, as part of the agenda, the Ministry of Commerce and Jiangsu Provincial People's Government jointly held a forum on the afternoon at SIPAC Building discussing how to expand domestic demand and ICT (Information and Communication Technology) business.
Stopping the trend of declining and becoming increasingly stable, Chinese economy has entered the post-crisis era. With the speeding up of the transfer of the global manufacturing and the appearance of such high technologies as 3G, the increase of demand on IT products brings along golden opportunities for the development of ICT sector in China.
ICT industry plays an active role in promoting the domestic consumption, the prevailing of online shopping, and the upgrading of consumption pattern and structure. As a result, the main tasks at present include grasping the opportunities, making adjustments to industrial structure, encouraging more rising pillar industries, and supporting leading companies in the sector.
