Feicuihu Apartments Residential Quarter in Weiting Sub-district’s Qingchun Jiayuan Community launched a pilot program on Dec 20 to collect household waste by category at specified time periods and place.

 

Under the pilot program, the residents are required to take their household waste to the designated site from 7:00 to 9:00am or from 6:00 to 8:00pm for classification and collection. There are volunteers serving there to help residents sort their waste and give them garbage bags and other small gifts if they do the right sorting.

 

It is learnt that, as preparation for the pilot program, the authorities and property management company of the residential quarter and related sub-district offices conducted a series of on- and off-line publicity activities and visited 196 local households to impart knowledge on garbage classification to the residents and seek their opinions on the pilot program. It was disclosed that more resident volunteers are expected to join the program and more incentives will be used in the future.
