Following rhythmic drums, 66 teams consisting of 1,348 members, including 238 from other countries and regions, competed in the 12-men and 12-women 300-meter straightaway races and 22-people 300-meter straightaway race.

After fierce competition, the team from China-Panama Cultural Center won the men’s race, while the one from Ca’ Foscari University of Venice won the women’s race and the one from Suzhou Longqian Auto Trade Co Ltd won the 22-people race. The winners received the awards.

Diverse parallel events were held concurrently along the lake banks, including a bazaar with cultural and creative products related to the Dragon Boat Festival, flash mob shows, charity campaigns and the release of stamps designed for the 10th anniversary of Jinji Lake Dragon Boat Race.

“We hope to make the annual race a great feast for both the contestants and the spectators as well as a channel for foreign friends to learn about Chinese culture,” said a representative of the event organizer.
