Tang Yin staged at National Centre for the Performing Arts

Tang Yin, one of SBT's original ballets, received positive response from the audiences when it was performed on Apr 21 and 22 at National Centre for the Performing Arts (NCPA), Beijing. It is the third of SBT's works staged at NCPA following Romeo and Juliet and Xi Shi.

The ballet depicts the bumpy life of the protagonist Tang Yin, a Chinese scholar living in the regions south of the Yangtze River about 500 years ago. Instead of realistic expression, it incorporates a variety of symbolic elements such as red robe, ink and peach blossom to reflect the characters' personalities and portray their inner mind, aiming to trigger off the audiences' imagination from a unique perspective.
