Suzhou Ballet Theatre (SBT) left Suzhou on Nov 22 (Beijing time) for the State of Qatar to give four performances of its modern ballet Cinderella from Nov 29 to Dec 1 (local time). Before this, SBT visited the country once in 2016 with another ballet The Nutcracker.

Debuted in 2016, the ballet is obviously an audacious theatrical representation of the classic literary work "Cinderella, or The Little Glass Slipper" by French author Charles Perrault. Following the same story line about the girl Cinderella who eventually enjoyed good fortune after a succession of tribulations from her stepmother and stepsisters, the performance embeds innovative adaptations and stage techniques, such as modern costumes, humorous language and the wicked and ugly stepsisters acted by two men.
