The book fair is not just a "fair"

"I found the book that I had been looking for a long time for my study on Suzhou culture in the Ming and Qing dynasties (1368-1911)," said Liu Yiwen, a graduate student majoring in Chinese language and literature at Soochow University. And she just got more surprised when she found the exhibits of New Year paintings, stele inscription rubbings, Suzhou-style fans and other traditional handicrafts.

"Jiangsu Book Fair is not just a 'fair' for marketing books. We have adopted many creative ideas to make it a cross-cultural dialogue platform to give the visitors brand new reading and cultural experiences," said Miao Zhihong, director of Jiangsu Administration of Press and Publication, Radio, Film and Television.

For the purpose, many creative cultural products were displayed and over 170 activities were held for the visitors to gain a better knowledge of Chinese literature and culture.
