"Smart technology has a promising future as long as we endeavor for it step by step," Lu Jianhua, dean of School of Information Science and Technology at Tsinghua University and academician at Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), said at the 2017 Annual Meeting of Chinese AI Industry.

Lu gave a detailed account of the current difficulties that hinder the development of smart technology, such as the challenges in managing the increasingly expanding Internet space and the loopholes in big data processing. He believes the difficulties are surmountable through continuous innovation and development.
