Unique New Year celebrations at YLPTR

Chongyuan Temple, a Buddhist temple in the area, always sees a flood of people who come to pray for good fortune around the Chinese New Year, which, reckoned on the first day of the first month on the Chinese lunar calendar, will fall on Feb 16, 2018. It will be no exception this year.

The temple has prepared a variety of traditional celebrations, such as a bell ringing ceremony to pray for luck, good career and longevity as well as joss-stick ceremonies to worship Buddha.

Events of similar kind will also be held in other places across YLPTR, for example, the lion dance celebrations at Yi'oulai Suzhou Village and the Christmas mass at a local church.
