The 7th Jiangsu Book Fair was held in Suzhou from July 13 to 16. In the 17,000-sqm main exhibition area consisting of dozens of theme pavilions, more than 100,000 books from over 500 publishers and distributors were displayed and over 200 activities held. About 100 famous Chinese scholars and writers shared their ideas and opinions with readers during the event.

The Suzhou International Expo Centre, the main venue for the fair, received more than 150,000 visitors and saw total sales of RMB 32.01 million. The sales at other venues for the fair reached RMB 23.45 million.

It was the second time Suzhou hosted the event, following the 4th Jiangsu Book Fair in 2014. This year's event incorporated more Suzhou cultural elements and features to demonstrate the development of the publishing industry in the city.

The Suzhou Books Pavilion themed on "Suzhou Lifestyle and Suzhou Books" consisted of 11 exhibition zones for publications, creative cultural products, intangible cultural heritage and featured bookstores, displaying a great variety of books on local culture, scientific researches and art as well as derivatives. Additionally, new book releasing activities, seminars, interviews and awarding ceremonies were held at the pavilion.

With various cultural activities, reading promotion activities and high-end forums of publishers, the Jiangsu Book Fair has become a “wind vane” that guides values and spreads advanced culture.
