The 2017 China Telecom E-surfing 4G Cup Jinji Lake Dragon Boat Race themed “Happy Time in Jiangsu” kicked off at the Moonlight Dock on May 30. A total of 70 teams competed fiercely in the preliminaries and finals, showcasing unique and time-honored Chinese folk culture.

Children learn to make dragon boats


366 Education Co Ltd and SIP's International Waterfront Community jointly held the Dragon Boat DIY event on May 24.

Before the beginning of the event, Zhang Suqin, a volunteer from the community, explained why the Chinese eat zongzi (glutinous rice dumpling filled with meat or egg yolk and wrapped in reed leaves) and hold dragon boat race to celebrate the Dragon Boat Festival. Then the children learnt to make dragon boats using the materials and tools provided by the community staff.
