The annual SIP Reading Season themed "The Scholarly SIP with Unique Insight from Reading" was launched during the World Book Day on Mar 23 with a variety of themed activities subsequently held in schools, communities and enterprises.

This year, Suzhou Dushu Lake Library will concentrate on highlighting "Family Reading" activities to enhance the importance of reading in families.

Eslite Bookstore launched its first exhibition in Suzhou, showcasing 20,000 books and magazines from China's Taiwan and foreign countries, with content covering literature, art, life, food, culture, history and business. Themed "Eslite Books Party", the event saw three-dimensional books, children’s books and magazines in foreign language as well as stationery and gifts displayed.

Suzhou Dushu Lake Library also created an interesting segment known as "Voice Library" through crowd sourcing.

Notably, the "Nesting Program" has again gained popularity among reading promotion circles. Plans are underway to promote it in schools and enterprises to encourage wide circulation of reading resources and discover enthusiasts who will spearhead the culture among the people.
