2017 CLC-SIPAC Joint Symposium on Suzhou Industrial Park held

As part of the World Cities Summit, the 2017 CLC-SIPAC Joint Symposium on Suzhou Industrial Park themed "Visionary Partnership, Knowledge Innovation" was held on May 19. Approximately 100 guests from China and Singapore participated in the discussion exploring the future innovation of SIP.

SIP is the first cooperation project between the Chinese and Singaporean governments. It is an important portal for China' s opening-up and a successful model of international cooperation.

The Chinese and Singaporean representatives exchanged opinions on a number of topics, such as "Perfectly Designed Management Framework", "Long-Term Overall Planning to Drive a Sustainable Development" and "Developing an Ecosystem Supporting Innovation-Driven Development". They also gave ideas and suggestions on what SIP can do to continuously stimulate vitality in innovation and business startup while building a unique innovative ecosystem.

To "build a domestic first-class and international famous high-tech industrial park", SIP will stick to the concept of "innovation, coordination, environmental protection, opening-up and sharing" to construct a modern new urban area featuring good residential conditions, great vitality and distinctive local characteristics.

The achievements made in SIP's development should be attributed to the hard work and contributions of all the Chinese and Singaporean parties under the cooperation project.

At the symposium, the Visionary Partnership, Knowledge Innovation: China-Singapore Suzhou Industrial Park Development Report jointly edited by SIP's Administrative Committee and Centre for Livable Cities (CLC) was released. The report includes a review of the extraordinary development process of SIP and provides useful reference for the next-step construction for a harmonious and livable urban area.
