The eighth "Bank of Suzhou" Suzhou Jinji Lake International Half Marathon will kick off at 8:30 am, March 12, according to the press conference held at Modern Building in SIP on Feb 21.

About 30,000 runners, including 1,577 foreigners from 50 countries and regions like Japan, the US, South Korea, Kenya and Ethiopia, will respectively take part in half marathon (21.0975 km, with the participation of about 12,000 people), short marathon (about 14 km, about 5,000 people), mini marathon (about 4.5 km, about 10,000 people) and family run (about 2.5 km, about 3,000 people).

The participants will start from Moon Harbor at national 5A-class Jinji Lake Scenic Area and run around the biggest urban lake park, passing Suzhou Culture & Arts Center, Harmony Times Square, Ferris Wheel Park, Ligongdi, Jinji Lake Bridge and so on.

According to Chen Long, vice director of SIP Publicity Department, some interesting and modern thematic cultural, sports, tourist and technological activities are to be held simultaneously, and tourist routes, hotel booking service, famous local scenic spots are to be recommended to participants.
