Johnson & Johnson Operates 100 Million-dollar Medical Equipment Production Base in SIP

An opening ceremony was held on April 22 to celebrate official commencement of operation of Johnson & Johnson Medical (Suzhou) Ltd. in SIP, which is the largest production base of Johnson & Johnson for medical equipment in China. Wang Jinhua, Chairman of Municipal Political Consultative Conference and Secretary of SIP Party Working Committee, attended the opening ceremony.

The registered capital of Johnson & Johnson Medical (Suzhou) Ltd. is US$ 47 million, and its investment in the first phase of the project amounts to US$ 100 million. It is so far the largest medical equipment production base in Asia.

Products of the DePuy, to be manufactured in the first phase, are market leaders in the orthopedic and neurological applications in the world with annual sales revenue reaching 4.5 billion US dollars. They are demanded in sport medicine, joints rebuilding, trauma, spinal and neurological surgery. The orthopedic series of products, covering replacement of joints, traumatic care, and recovery of spinals, etc., claim 10 to 20 percent of the total output of the world and rank the very first in Asia.
