Wu Qingwen, member of the Standing Committee of CPC Suzhou Committee and secretary of SIP Party Working Committee, made a tightly scheduled tour around several places in SIP on Feb 10 to learn about the latest progress in these places in the prevention and control of the epidemic caused by the new respiratory coronavirus known as 2019-nCoV.
At HongLeong City Center, a commercial complex, and BioBAY, a biomedicine cluster, Wu inquired of the project operators about their specific measures for people flow control, health screening, environment hygiene, response to emergencies and other work necessary for the prevention and control of the epidemic. Wu also visited Suzhou Genewiz Biological Science & Technology Co Ltd, a branch of American genomics service company Genewiz in BioBAY, and checked the company’s measures for the epidemic prevention and control.
In the process, Wu urged about 200 BioBAY-based enterprises that have resumed their operations after a closedown due to the epidemic to keep high alertness against the virus and strive to get through the tough times relying on technical innovation.
After that, Wu visited Tongcheng Life, an SIP-based online group purchase company that has been continuing its operations amid the 2019-nCoV outbreak to offer food and other living supplies to its customers. Wu gave high praise to the company’s efforts against the epidemic, and encouraged it to try multiple ways to ensure enough supplies for local residents.
In the last leg, Wu visited a residential quarter at Loufeng Sub-district, and gained a good knowledge of the endeavor that local administrative offices, property management company and volunteers have made in such aspects as access control, recording of residents’ health conditions and publicity on caution against the virus.
