SIP Customs launched a program on Jan 9 to take the lead nationwide to pilot a reform in supervision over bonded goods that need to be collaboratively processed by more than one high-end manufacturing enterprise. Under the program, the concerned enterprises can transfer the bonded goods freely to the next processer with the whole-process supervision of SIP Customs, instead of going through related customs procedures individually as they did before.

The program is aimed at improving production efficiency at the high-end manufacturing chain and saving enterprises time and cost in dealing with bonded goods. Under the program, the customs office employs smart technologies to ensure strict and efficient supervision, while the upstream enterprises are responsible for self-disciplined management of the goods concerned and can impose standards to downstream enterprises if necessary.

On top of that, SIP Customs designates coordinators to help optimize credit management within the industrial chain and ensure the goods circulation efficiency.

It was announced at the launching ceremony that SPIL (Suzhou), a branch of Taiwan-based semiconductor company Siliconware Precision Industries in SIP, and two of its partner companies will be the first to pilot the program.
