SIP Moon Bay Community Working Committee and several other law enforcement authorities on Oct 15 conducted an unannounced inspection over a number of local construction sites, roads, communities and business streets in SIP’s Moon Bay sub-district, in a move to urge rectifications of a series of problems exposed there in earlier inspections.

It is learnt that the inspections were designed to urge construction project undertakers to decorate their construction sites with enclosures bearing public-service advertisements, curb illegal roadside parking, increase parking spaces for non-motor vehicles, maintain a good appearance of business streets and ensure food safety.

The committee reportedly had organized a patrol around some of the target places and held a meeting with related authorities one day before the event to clarify the problems and discuss solutions. In the event, the inspectors talked with the construction project undertakers, business operators and other parties concerned, requiring them to make rectifications as soon as possible.

The committee said it has adopted stricter supervision, evaluation, inspection and law enforcement mechanisms since early this year in the hope of improving local public environment in an all-around way.
