Recently, the Center for International Economic and Technological Cooperation at the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China and French Industry of the Future Alliance jointly announced their second list of “Demonstration Projects for Sino-French Industrial Cooperation” after a series of evaluation procedures. French cosmetics conglomerate L’Oreal’s factory in SIP, which realized zero carbon dioxide emissions in June, is on the list.
It is learnt that BeautyCos International Co Ltd, L’Oreal’s biggest factory in the Asia-Pacific region, was erected in SIP in 1996 and carried out a three-step plan from 2014 to 2018 to substitute solar, wind and biomass energy sources for pollution-causing ones in its production. A third-party environmental assessment last month proved that the factory’s operations meet international norms on carbon neutrality.
