SIP’s Weiting Sub-district recently saw two events that offered local residents good chances to learn about traditional Chinese culture and art.

One of the events took place in Putian Community on June 8 when the participating residents learnt from the teacher a set of skills of making and drawing pictures on traditional Chinese folding fans.

In the other one at Xuanzhu Community on June 9, a local retiree taught a group of youngsters to write Chinese characters meaning integrity and probity with traditional Chinese writing brush, and told them funny stories about the good morals. In the event, the youngsters not only learnt traditional Chinese calligraphy skills, but also gained a better understanding of the virtues of integrity and probity.
