Suzhou Symphony Orchestra (SZSO)’s Art Education and Popularization Week is underway. Four public-benefit concerts held at SIP’s Jinji Lake Concert Hall from June 2 to 3 treated nearly 2,000 Suzhou teachers and students to a list of world-famous music works such as “Happy Birthday to You” and “Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star”, and offered some of them chances to try their hands on various musical instruments in the interaction sessions.

It is learnt that SZSO has organized over 120 art education events since its founding two and a half years ago, benefiting more than 26,000 on-site audiences and 260,000 on-line viewers. Based on that, SZSO launched the SZSO Art Education and Popularization Week this year, hoping to further increase the public’s interest in classical music.

According to SZSO, a series of concerts tailored for students and teachers are scheduled from late May to early June. It is noteworthy that the Chinese version of “Hello Kitty and Friends: The Kingdom of Bowknots” concert produced by Japanese company Sanrio will be staged on June 8 as the finale of SZSO Art Education and Popularization Week.
