About 80 pupils from SIP Xinghui School, Xingzhou Primary School, Ren’ai School, Xingwan School and Overseas Chinese Academy Suzhou shared the stage with a team of Suzhou Symphony Orchestra (SZSO) artists at Jinji Lake Concert Hall, SIP on May 31 in a special celebration for International Children’s Day the following day.

It is learnt that SZSO established last year the tradition of holding concerts of the kind in the hope of increasing youngsters’ interest in classical music.

In the event, the pupils and the artists jointly performed five music works that they co-created earlier when the artists visited the pupils at their schools to make preparations for the concert.

The concert also kicked off the 2019 SZSO Art Education and Popularization Week, which, scheduled from May 31 to June 8, includes a series of concerts designed to help students and teachers across Suzhou know better about classical music.
