A robotic system, for which SIP-based electronic technology developer New Vision played a leading role in its research and development, recently came into service at CRH Shanghai (Hongqiang) Operation Station to check CRH (China Railway High-speed) trains. As the first of its kind in the world, the system is expected to help save labor input by half and annual labor cost by over RMB 4 million while increasing inspection efficiency by 2.75 times compared with human operations.

It is reported that the robotic system incorporate machine vision, image recognition and wireless data transmission technologies to allow remote control of automatic machines that work under CRH train bottoms to detect and cope with failures.

The system passed the final review in March and has been applied to several CRH series, with a malfunction detection rate of nearly 96%, and is now being rolled out home and abroad.
