Wu Qingwen, member of the Standing Committee of CPC Suzhou Committee and secretary of SIP Party Working Committee, visited SIP-based drug makers Suzhou Shengdiya Biomedicine Co Ltd and Ascentage Pharma Group International and silicon wafer manufacturer HeJian Technology (Suzhou) Co Ltd on May 30, learning about their operations and needs for project development.

It is learnt that Jiangsu government adopted a mechanism last year to hold local top officials responsible for certain major economic and industrial projects in the province. Under the mechanism, the officials are required to enhance communication with the project undertakers to follow up the projects’ progress and give them a leg up.

In the event, Wu and his contingent toured around the companies’ production and R&D facilities, acquired a better understanding of their on-going projects and offered advice. Wu also urged related administrative offices to make greater efforts to help the companies overcome challenges in their operations.
