Representatives of the shareholders of Chinese Consortium which, also known as Suzhou Industrial Park Co Ltd, was founded in 1996 by 14 Chinese enterprises to support SIP’s development, attended a series of events held in SIP on Apr 12 to mark SIP’s 25th anniversary.

It is learnt that Chinese Consortium has made remarkable contributions to SIP’s development over the past 25 years by taking part in and funding a host of promising projects in and outside the area, such as CanSino Biologics Inc, an SIP-based biotech startup that went public at Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Market (HKEX) last month as the country’s first vaccine maker listed at HKEX.

In their trip, the shareholders attended a conference and an exhibition to gain a holistic picture of SIP’s achievements so far, visited a landscaping project at Jinji Lake, watched an art show and had a meeting with Yang Zhiping, vice mayor of Suzhou.
