Singapore’s Deputy Prime Minister Teo Chee Hean who is on a six-day official trip to China attended a series of events held in SIP on Apr 12 to mark SIP’s 25th anniversary.
At the China-Singapore Suzhou Industrial Park 25th Anniversary Celebration-Development Report Conference, Teo recalled his experiences of taking part in the development of SIP, and pointed out that SIP serves as a catalyst for China’s reform and opening-up.
“I am confident that SIP will continue to be a pathfinder in new areas, such as driving innovation, enabling start-ups and producing high-quality growth,” he said, hoping that SIP will enhance cooperation with Singaporean partners to help further promote Sino-Singaporean cooperation and exchange.
In addition to the conference, Teo and his contingent also attended a meeting with CPC Jiangsu Committee Secretary Lou Qinjian and other local officials as well as the inauguration ceremony for SIP Sino-Singaporean Cooperation Exhibition Hall, and watched an art show in the evening.
