Suzhou Spring Job Fair, an annual event that has been held in Suzhou for 32 consecutive years, kicked off at Suzhou International Expo Centre, SIP on Jan 19. The event attracted not only a throng of college graduates from around the country, but also a team of special visitors, Suzhou mayor Li Yaping and several other officials from city government.

The event gathered 586 employers offering 14,597 job vacancies. The officials visited some of the booths, chatting with the recruiters and the job hunters to learn about their needs.

It is learnt that Suzhou in recent years has adopted a series of talent introduction mechanisms such as seasonal and campus job fairs in an attempt to lure professionals to the city. The 2018 statistics recorded 377 public-benefit job fairs that provided 206,000 job opportunities, and an employment rate of 98.73% among local graduates.
