Litens Automotive Parts (Suzhou) Co Ltd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Canada-based auto parts manufacturer Litens Automotive Group in SIP High-end Manufacturing and International Trade Zone, is definitely a pioneer in smart manufacturing. In average, over 1,000 people visit it each year with the hope of gaining some experience for integrating advanced smart technologies into production processes.

The over-10-square-meter Smart Manufacturing Operation Center is always a must-visit place. Equipped with three big screens and six computers, the small room is hailed as the "brain" of the company. It monitors not only the production and quality control procedures but also the employee attendance and the parent company's global outputs.

It is learnt that the company has adopted a strategy since 2004 to strive for all-around smart manufacturing. With a total investment of more than RMB 70 million so far, it has erected four globally cutting-edge production lines along with a series of management systems which have helped raise its productivity by 6.25 times.

The company has disclosed that they plan to improve its ERP/MES system based on cloud computing technologies to better support its decision-making concerning production, research and development and business operations.
