Jinji Lake: a testimony to SIP's 24-year growth
In the east of the ancient Suzhou city and the middle of SIP, there is the beautiful Jinji Lake that has existed for over 2,500 years, as long as the history of the city. The lake now serves as a testimony to the thriving development of SIP since it was founded 24 years ago as a cooperation project between the Chinese and Singaporean governments.
The Jinji Lake area, proved by historical evidences to be an "industrial zone" in the Spring and Autumn period (a period in Chinese history from approximately 771 to 476 BC), now has a new look featuring splendid sceneries, densely distributed commercial and cultural facilities and a multitude of modern businesses, all demonstrating SIP's achievements over the past two decades in fulfilling the goal of building an industrial park with the strongest international competitiveness.
Thanks to the joint efforts of Chinese and Singaporean parties, the area has turned from a farmland to a paradise for business operators and tourists, and it is firmly believed that more miracles will happen here in the future.
