Hotel offers baking class for guests to savor French culture
Mercure Suzhou Jinji Lake, an SIP-based member of Mercure Hotels, a midscale brand run by French multinational corporation AccorHotels, offered a baking class on Nov 9, when a group of its guests tried to make macarons and croissants with the teacher's help and instructions.
The hotel, inaugurated in SIP in September, boasts an artistic and romantic atmosphere rendered by ingenious use of colors and painting decorations and perfect integration of French and Suzhou's cultural elements. The hotel hopes that the baking class can help the guests gain a better understanding of French food and lifestyles.
At the event, Lele, the teacher who studied cooking at famous French school LE NOTRE, taught the participants to make the sweet meringue-based confections and crescent-shaped rolls step by step and helped them in their practice. The participants enjoyed the pretty desserts they made along with French-style afternoon tea.
In the last part, Wang Luyang, general manager of the hotel, gave the guests a specific introduction to their services and showed them around a number of facilities in the hotel, such as the lobby with hand-painted murals by renowned Chinese artist Lin Zinan, the multimedia meeting rooms, the 24-hour fitness center and the all-day dining restaurant.
