Jinji Lakeshore Footpath opens to public
Jinji Lakeshore Footpath, an about-14-km footpath that started construction in SIP last November with a total investment of about RMB 240 million, fully opened to the public on Oct 1 and became one of the most-visited destinations during the closely following seven-day National Day holiday.
The footpath, exactly along the shorelines of Jinji Lake, is designed to facilitate walking tours to the surrounding attractions. It is also a beautiful landscape itself, boasting five spectacular new bridges to connect with the attractions such as Suzhou Culture and Arts Centre and several public parks. It takes about 2.5 to 3 hours to walk through it.
The path is paved with granite plates and wooden boards, with a width ranging from 4 to 6 meters at most of its sections. It is equipped with benches, signboards and other service facilities for walkers to stop and have a rest.
