Chinese and overseas students experience taiji culture

Huihu Academy Cultural Experience Center, which came into service in Dushu Lake Science & Education Innovation Zone in May with the mission of promoting transnational cultural exchanges, recently hosted an event that offered a good chance for over 40 Chinese and overseas students from local universities and colleges to experience the charm and essence of taiji (Chinese shadow boxing) culture.

Chen, a taiji inheritor from Chenjiagou, the cradle of the Chens Taiji School in Central China's Henan province, started the event with a specific introduction to the historical evolution of taiji and the use of Suzhou-style folding fans in taiji exercises. Afterward, Chen demonstrated a set of taiji exercises with a fan and taught the students to practice the exercises step by step.

According to the center's staff, they organize academic exchange and cultural experience events every month to help the participants gain a better knowledge of Chinese culture and enhance their mutual interaction.
