The primary and middle schools in Suzhou ushered in the new semester on Sept 3 with a diversity of events that radiate positive energy among the students and prepared them for their later study.

Several schools hosted events to mark the 73rd anniversary of the victory of the War of Chinese People's Resistance against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War. At the events, the students listened to stories about revolutionary martyrs and gained a better understanding of related historical events.

Some schools held events to commemorate the 40th anniversary of China’s reform and opening-up. For example, an old photo exhibition gave the students a holistic picture of the city’s changes over the period.

Other schools offered a variety of demo classes on history, chemicals and sports and art, guiding the students to have a rough idea of the courses they will take throughout the semester and piquing their interest in the courses.

Another school gave its students an introduction to its new water conversation system and imparted knowledge on water pollution and protection to them.
