Young singles make friends at matchmaking event

Recently, Weiting Sub-district Federation of Trade Unions jointly with other two departments hosted a matchmaking event to mark the upcoming Chinese Valentine's Day which, reckoned on the seventh day of the seventh month on the Chinese lunar calendar, will fall on Aug 17 this year. More than 40 local young singles participated and made new friends.

The event started with the game named "The Red Thread of Fate", which originated from a Chinese myth saying that the god of love ties an invisible red cord around the ankles of those destined to meet each other in their life. In the process, each of the participants held one end of a red ribbon that was mixed with other ribbons so that it is hard to know who held the other end, and those who finally found they had the same ribbon should work together to untie a knot on the ribbon. The game enhanced the participants' acquaintance with each other.

Following that, the young people played another game, where they tried to match the key in their hand with the lock in another's. Going on in a joyous atmosphere, the game put the event to a climax.
