Suzhou leg of PGA Tour China to kick off in SIP
A news briefing on Aug 7 announced that the Suzhou Open, the 10th leg of 2018 PGA Tour Series-China, is scheduled to take place at Jinji Lake Golf Club, SIP from Aug 30 to Sept 2. It will gather professional golfers from nearly 20 countries including China, the United States, Canada, the Republic of Korea, Japan, Thailand, Australia and New Zealand.
PGA Tour Series-China is a China-based men's professional golf tour as one of the annual series of tournaments organized by PGA Tour, a non-profit organization headquartered in the United States. The tour started in the country in 2014, and after a hiatus in 2017, resumed this year.
As revealed, a qualifying competition will be held on Aug 27 and a pro-am on Aug 29 as preludes to the event. The four rounds of formal competitions over the following four days will be open to the public. Tickets are available by telephone and WeChat booking. Besides, there will be live broadcast on many Chinese media platforms. It is also learnt that a series of events will be held during the event to give the local youngsters chances to experience the sport of golf.
