NUS (Suzhou) Research Institute researchers clinch international awards


Senior researcher Roger Zimmermann and his team at Interactive Multimedia Research Center at NUS (Suzhou) Research Institute, SIP recently received DASH Industry Forum Excellence in DASH Award (first place) and best student paper at the ACM Multimedia Systems Conference 2018 (MMSys 2018) held from June 12 to 15 in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.

MMSys is an international event held annually in Amsterdam since 2009 to provide opportunities for global researchers to present and share their latest research findings in multimedia systems.

The team's award-winning paper titled Want to Play DASH GTA: A Game Theoretic Approach for Adaptive Streaming over HTTP demonstrated remarkable research outcomes in DASH, a technique that enables high quality streaming of media content over the Internet delivered from conventional HTTP web servers.
