Yangcheng Lake to have the third tunnel
Yangcheng Lake in SIP is expected to have the third tunnel running through its western bottom in addition to the existing one in service and another one under construction, according to the project plan published by Suzhou Urban Planning Bureau on July 6 for public consultation.
As revealed in the plan, it will be a 5.61-km-long tunnel, including a 2.8-km two-way six-lane main section and several two-way four-lane branches. Connecting SIP with Xiangcheng District, the project will play an important role in alleviating the traffic pressure between the two areas and facilitating the economic and social development on both banks of Yangcheng Lake.
