Suzhou Jinji Lake Biennale kicks off
The 4th Suzhou Jinji Lake Biennale themed "Inheritance and Re-creation" kicked off at Suzhou Center on May 19 and will last till June 19. Three major exhibitions on design, sculpture and painting opened concurrently.
The sculpture exhibition at Ligongdi Cultural and Creative Block showcases more than 200 sculptures of diversified styles and themes. The painting exhibition at Jinji Lake Art Museum, where 42 artists' works are displayed in a classical Suzhou-style garden, exemplifies innovative inheritance of traditional culture and art. The design exhibition at Suzhou Center has gathered a host of global top artists and designers' works embedding Chinese and Suzhou cultural elements.
According to the event organizer, 22 parallel exhibitions and 15 theme activities will start soon, in tandem with a series of academic events among professionals and interaction activities devised for local citizens.
