Xietang Sub-district saw an event on Mar 16, when a number of volunteers from the local HR market and an art troupe visited Xietang Nursing Home and showed their care and love for the elderlies there.

The volunteers presented gifts to the elderlies, mostly aged about 80, and chatted with them to learn about their needs. Then the troupe members gave art performances like dances, pingtan (storytelling and ballad singing in Suzhou dialect) and skits, drawing intermittent applause.

To express thanks to the volunteers, Lu Xuezhen, an 86-year-old lady at the nursing home, performed a song while all the elderlies and volunteers clapped their hands to the beat and hummed the song with her.
