Various events to show care for vulnerable groups
With the approaching of the National Day, which is celebrated annually on Oct 1, and the Mid-Autumn Festival, which, reckoned on the fifteenth day of the eighth month on the Chinese lunar calendar, falls on Oct 4 this year, several events took place in Weiting Sub-district to show care for vulnerable groups.
Representatives from SIP Weiting Chamber of Commerce visited the East and West Weiting Sub-district Nursing Homes on Sept 26, expressing greetings and giving mooncakes to the elderly people.
Representatives from H. Brothers Film Studios & Resorts (Suzhou) Co Ltd visited the elderly who live alone as well as households living on the minimum living guarantee and those at similar income level in Xuanzhu Community on Sept 26. They presented mooncakes to the elderlies and others and encouraged them to be optimistic about life.
A free haircut was given in Qingcheng Garden Community on Sept 21. The barbers and community volunteers cut hair for the local senior citizens.
