Dushu Lake Science & Education Innovation Zone recently saw various events to mark the upcoming National Day, which is celebrated annually on Oct 1, and the Mid-Autumn Festival, which, reckoned on the fifteenth day of the eighth month on the Chinese lunar calendar, falls on Oct 4 this year.
In Hanlinyuan Community, a lantern riddle guessing event was held to raise public awareness of incorruption. Many local residents participated, racking their brains for the answers to 100 riddles.
Young residents of Jingying and Jinghui Apartment Communities staged wonderful performances like guitar playing, yoga dance and aerobics, showcasing their talents and passion for life.
In Haide Community, an event that incorporated art performances, quizzes, photography competition and taste of pastries took place at the business street, offering a chance for the business owners and local residents to interact with each other.
Residents of Meisong Community invited firemen from Dushu Lake Squadron of SIP Fire Brigade to watch a show together. Besides, the community's excellent volunteers and volunteer teams received awards at the event.
Hanlinyuan Community hosted a parent-child event on Sept 23 to mark the Mid-Autumn Festival. The participants listened to the story Taste of Moon told by the teacher based on a painting book. Then the children and their parents played games and made mooncakes together.
In another event, the community's volunteers visited the empty-nest elderly (whose children live far from home) with gifts, showing care for them.
