SIP Holds 2nd Exchange and Promotion Meeting on Energy-Saving and Environment-Friendly Production and Technologies

The 2nd Suzhou Industrial Park (SIP) Exchange and Promotion Meeting on Energy-Saving and Environment-Friendly Production and Technologies was held on August 31 at Suzhou International Expo Center.

Over 10 famous international and domestic energy-saving and environment-friendly service firms had direct communication with over 100 SIP companies at the meeting in forms of publicizing and displaying new energy-saving and environment-friendly products, technologies and system integration service, in order to incubate SIP energy-saving service industry and build a new ecological urban district.   

The number of participating companies in this meeting outnumbered the previous one, showing SIP companies' enthusiasm for energy-saving and emission reduction.

Centering on the low-carbon issues, the exchange meeting involved various fields of energy-saving and environment-friendly technologies, including photovoltaic applied technology and its future development, energy saving of compressed air, the integrated energy-saving solutions of industrial workshops, and electrical service of enterprises, for the purpose of providing successful experience for SIP's low-carbon "path" in the period of transformation and upgrading.

According to Xu Shaojie, Vice Director of SIP Environment Protection Bureau, SIP sets up 50 million RMB guiding funds every year to subsidize and award the companies, among which 10 million are subsidized by SIP Economic & Trade Development Bureau to energy-saving and environment-protecting innovative projects, and others for building environment-protection capability and subsidizing companies' emission reduction projects. The companies are encouraged with the funds to increase input to new environment-friendly technologies and new equipment.

At present, the application for guiding funds in the first half of 2010 has concluded, with a total of 10.24 million RMB subsidies allocated to 30 projects. With the opening of the application in the second half of the year, more and more enterprises will take part in the "SIP Ecological Optimization Plan".
