SIP Emphasizes Sensor Network Industry to Accelerate Economic Upgrading

Defined by some scholars as the third wave after PC and Internet in information industry, the Internet of Things creates smart cities by covering the entire city with one network of objects. At present, there are nearly 150 key enterprises engaged in core technologies of sensor web in Suzhou and two industrial clusters producing sensor modules in Zhouzhuang of Kunshan and communication and integrated circuits in Suzhou Industrial Park (SIP). In 2009, the annual industrial output value totaled at over 10 billion yuan. With Internet of Things steadily growing, SIP grasps the chance to promote the transformation and upgrading of its economic structure and development pattern.
