SIP Unfolds Occupational Hazards Rectification

Suzhou Industrial Park (SIP) held a working conference on eradicating occupational hazards on February 24. According to the rectification plan, SIP is to set up safety archives for 200 key SIP enterprises with potential occupational hazards, to effectively ensure the employees' occupational health through "one enterprise +one archive".

According to the information released by SIP Administration of Work Safety, SIP has currently categorized the enterprises with occupational hazards into Level A, B and C, for classified supervision, in which the enterprises in Level A have to report the occupational safety twice every year. Meanwhile, SIP will list 120 enterprises as major rectification units in the year 2010, and enterprises of electronics manufacturing, sizing & spray painting, and furniture making, etc, as key rectification objects. Through this campaign, the rate of supervision on those enterprises will reach 100% and that on occupational safety also to100%. At the same time, SIP will build up "one material + one archive" for hypertoxic and highly pathogenic materials which used by enterprises, and forbid the laborers' direct contact with and use of hexane in the workshops.
